Lately, Trey Songz has been dubbed as a beat jacker, hopping on every one’s song and making it his own. While some of it was kind of good, I began to ask myself, "Damn does this boy have his own songs?" Obviously he does, however; none of his previous album efforts firmly stated his position in the R&B game, but surprisingly, the "Can’t Help but Wait" maker’s mixtape, "Anticipation", has been declared by fans as some of his best work by making woman’s pants drop one by one.
After months of releasing huge amounts of songs and building hype, his album thrid studio album, "Ready", is finally out in retails and hitting sound waves.
This review will be based on few categories due to the fact that this is not a hip-hip album review. Those categories are:

Does this album live up to the hype and states Trey Songz place in the R&B game?
Now let the review begin.
Vocals- 8.5
Trey Songz has without a doubt improved his vocals tremendously on this album. While Trey’s previous albums had him keeping it simple with his vocal patterns, he finally goes all out in his new album, "Ready". Songs like "Panty Droppa (Intro)" and "Does He Do It" has Trey Songz finally layering vocals together peacefully and musically, without over doing it. Not in one song will you hear Trey yelling like a 5 year old kid during the album. Trey Songz also displays his technique in "twisting/bending" notes, which also adds to the interest and wonderful vocals in the album. Trey without a doubt shows his vocal talent in this album.
Production-9
This album has all kinds of crazy production. To the nice mid tempo song, "Panty Droppa", to the nice electro dance song, "Be Where You Are", to the "anthematic" sound of, "Say Ahh", and to the slow ballad of "Ready To Make Luv", production in this album is insane. Each production makes you feel a specific mood without adding to many sounds to cram inside your ears like more recent R&B albums. The production is similar to what you expect to hear from an old school R&B album while adding a new school twist. While Troy Taylor produces the majority of the album, there is still the sounds of Stargate, Brian Michael Cox, Sean Garrett and new comers, Fisha & Price. After listening to the album’s production countless times, Trey Songz’ album "Ready" without a doubt has the best production out of ANY of his albums and even any R&B album that came out in the last 5 years.
Content/Lryics-7
This must be the WEAKEST part of his album. While Trey Songz is known for lyrics about love, sex, women, sex, cars, sex, money, sex, break ups, sex, love, and sex. This album is mostly about sex, which is not a bad thing due to the fact its an R&B album and its expected to contain content like this. The only songs I can point out at this moment which doesn’t contain lyrics about sex is "Successful", "LOL Smiley Face", "Say Ahh" and "Be Where You Are". The lyrics do NOT AT ALL hurt the album in anyway shape or form. Why? Let’s take a look at the next section…
Lady Appeal-11 (yes an 11)
While many of us certainly do not go out and buy R&B albums for ourselves and mothers, the majority of us buy it just to get our girls turned on and in h1. "the mood". This album is GUARANTEED to get you your girl all up on you regardless of the moment. And if doesn’t its either you can’t afford a decent sound system in your car or you just plain suck with the ladies. Trey Songz made this album with the ladies in mind and he simply does not fail in it. Tracks like "Panty Droppa", "Ready to Make Luv", "Does He Do It" & "Invented Sex" are sure to speed up the process of you and your girl getting to do the nasty. While many of the people on this site will try to be say that only fags/homos buy albums to get their girls naked, the majority and common sense minded people are actually getting some by just putting an investment of $12 (price may vary) into this one little disc. The choice is simply yours.
Replay Value-8
While most R&B albums are FULL of corny filler content, you will rarely press the skip button on this album. Out of 17 tracks only 2 tracks are skips, "LOL SMILEY FACE" and "Black Roses". It is surprising that you will not be skipping any of the Intros or Interludes of the of the album. Yes, even the INTROS AND INTERLUDES ARE GOOD!! This album will always be in your car and mp3 player after your first listen through. The album is that great.
Conclusion-10
Without a doubt, Trey Songz finally made a classic album out of a "hit or miss" situation. This is Trey Songz BEST work and I dare to say is the best R&B album since Usher’s classic, Confessions. This album is worth every penny put into it. Trust me, it will not disappoint.
Hope This Review Persuades You To Cop This Album!
